chapter 24, what must be shared, call them songs part 1 of 2

some of the songs from this reading include –

Familiar beauty

like my cat Stoner’s exquisite eye makeup.

I feel the same intimacy when I look at the sky.

beauty is kin.

We leave stones at the grave

to give weight to our memories

and hold onto the love that

lingers through time and mistakes.

There is a river in Yakutia with her name.

In the winter it is a road

so people are not isolated by the season.

They are able to float down the Lena again in May.

~ ~ ~

There are several ways to travel a river,

to accept memory,

to move down a long stretch of grief

which has no measure of time or distance.

Memories of it dissipate.

They may return from the mind’s grey bends

when everything is moving.

Right now you notice that everything is different

and that the river remains.

Bungalow notes starts just after 5:32 if you want to jump to them. Originally, this Substack was called the Narrator’s response to bird dreams. And, by way of that, my bungalow notes were born. They are riff and other sharings riding the key notes of the section of the book i read. For a good read of the text, please refer to a hard copy.
